The past few weeks have been more like spring conditions in Lake Tahoe with little precipitation and warmer weather. But these conditions have made for a phenomenal pond hockey season!
Tahoe Area Lakes and Reservoirs Great Ice Skating!
A few lakes and reservoirs around the area have frozen over and become great places to ice skate. When the temperatures are warmer during the day, the top layer melts but then re-freezes at night making for a glassy ice skating rink the next morning!
Enjoy the Lake Tahoe Area Rinks
Boca Reservoir is pictured on the left and is among the few places to play pond hockey so far this year. There are also a number of ice skating rinks in and around Lake Tahoe and Truckee if you are not feeling brave enough to skate out on these frozen lakes! There is the Regional Ice Rink in Truckee, Olympic Ice Pavilion at Squaw, and the Northstar at Tahoe Village Ice Skating Rink. Hope you can get out there and enjoy some good skating this season!
