Pla Vada and Kingvale

Pla Vada and Kingvale are quiet mountain communities perfect for those who want to be able to escape to the hills without going all the way over Donner Summit. They lie 15-16 miles west of Truckee, and offer easy access to Interstate 80, Sacramento and the Bay Area.

Just a few miles up the hill are the ski areas of Donner Summit: Royal Gorge Cross Country, Boreal & Sugar Bowl. Families will also enjoy Woodward Tahoe, a kid-friendly, fun-filled action park, and the snow play park at Kingvale Resort.
